The Role

We are looking for an organised and detail-focused LOLER Compliance Administrator to join our team and take responsibility for the day-to-day administration and coordination of our lifting equipment compliance requirements. The successful candidate will ensure that LOLER records are accurate and up to date. That statutory thorough examinations are scheduled and completed on time, and any defects or actions identified are properly recorded and followed through to completion. This is an important role in supporting the organisation's health, safety and legal compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the company's LOLER lifting equipment register.
  • Coordinate and schedule LOLER examinations and inspections.
  • Monitor examination dates and arrange re-certification of equipment prior to expiry.
  • Maintain accurate records of LOLER certificates, examination reports and associated documentation.
  • Review inspection reports and record any defects, recommendations or remedial actions.
  • Follow up outstanding actions and ensure issues are escalated where necessary.
  • Liaise with LOLER inspectors, contractors, engineers, maintenance teams and equipment users.
  • Track overdue examinations and ensure appropriate action is taken.
  • Assist with ensuring defective or unsafe lifting equipment is taken out of service where required.
  • Prepare regular compliance reports for management.
  • Provide LOLER documentation and records during audits and inspections.
  • Ensure lifting equipment records remain accurate, traceable and accessible.
  • Support continuous improvement of LOLER compliance processes and procedures.

REQUIRED SKILLS

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, methodical and confident managing compliance records and deadlines.

You will have:

  • Previous experience in compliance, administration, health and safety, engineering, facilities or a similar environment.
  • A good understanding of LOLER requirements and lifting equipment compliance.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Experience maintaining databases, registers or compliance records.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • The ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise with internal teams and external contractors.
  • The ability to identify issues and escalate them appropriately.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience administering LOLER compliance.
  • Knowledge of PUWER and other relevant workplace health and safety legislation.
  • Experience coordinating statutory inspections or thorough examinations.
  • Experience working within an engineering, manufacturing, construction, logistics or facilities environment.
  • IOSH, NEBOSH or another relevant health and safety qualification.
