Shearwater Marine Services Ltd Honoured with Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award

We are proud to announce that Shearwater Marine Services Ltd has been awarded the prestigious Silver Award as part of the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS). The award was presented during a formal ceremony held at The Black Watch Castle and Museum in Perth on 26 June 2025.

Hosted by the Highland Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association (RFCA) on behalf of the Ministry of Defence, the event celebrated 18 organisations across the region for their outstanding support of the Armed Forces community. Shearwater Marine Services Ltd was among 17 organisations present to receive the award from Brigadier Andy Muddiman, Naval Regional Commander for Scotland & Northern Ireland.

The Silver Award recognises employers who actively demonstrate their commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant. To qualify, organisations must employ members of the Armed Forces community, support Reservists during mobilisation, and offer additional paid leave for training, among other criteria.

Brigadier Muddiman praised the recipients, stating:

“We are here this evening to give recognition to employers as part of the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme... We hope that now you too have reached the Silver standard you will go on to become advocates to other businesses and organisations on behalf of the Defence family.”

The evening featured a warm welcome from Brigadier (Retired) Mark Dodson, Chief Executive of Highland RFCA, and a stirring performance by pipers from Glenalmond College Combined Cadet Force.
