Based on the Clyde Estuary  Shearwater Marine Services are ideally placed to provide services nationally & internationally.

 

Forty minutes from Glasgow & Prestwick International Airports and 20 minutes from Greenock Ocean Terminal, Shearwater can send containerised units and dive teams to any part of the world. We have already operated successfully in Egypt, Greece, Denmark, Italy & Ireland.

 

Locally our teams can be based;

• Within 2 hours - Oban,( ferries for Islands ) Fort William, Ayr & Edinburgh.
• Within 3 hours - Mallaig, Girvan & Dundee.
• Within 4 hours - Inverness, Montrose, Eyemouth & Carlisle.
• Within 5 hours - Ullapool, ( Ferries for Western Isles ), Aberdeen ( Ferries for Shetland ) & Sellafield.
• Within 6 hours - Wick, Thurso, Scrabster ( ferries for Orkney ) & Newcastle.

 

Background

Originally based in the former US navy base on the Holy Loch, Shearwater have retained a small workshop and chandery on the site. This is now a rapidly expanding marina and commercial pier frontage where vessels can be loaded and offloaded for marine operations.

Shearwater also have a office & workshop unit in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis which is used to service Aquaculture, Civil Engineering & Inspection contracts in the Western Isles.
